Find your main shut-off now
Most metro Atlanta homes have the main valve where the water line enters the house, often in the basement, crawl space or garage, with a second shut-off at the meter near the street. Knowing where it is before something bursts saves a lot of water damage.
Before the visit
Text a photo of the problem and, for water heaters, of the label on the tank. It helps the crew bring the right parts the first time.
Tank or tankless water heater
A standard 40 to 50 gallon tank is the cheaper replacement and usually swaps in the same spot. A tankless unit costs more up front, takes less space and heats water on demand, but it can need a bigger gas line or new venting. If the old tank is leaking from the bottom, it is at the end of its life and needs replacing, not repairing.

Common questions
How does the 30% off labor work?
30% off labor on your first job booked through fixerpro.net. Labor only: materials, parts, permits and dumpster fees are billed at full price. Mention your ticket number when you book. One per household, can't be combined with other offers. FixerPro may change or end this offer at any time.
How much does a plumber cost in Atlanta?
Small repairs like a faucet or toilet run about $125 to $350 by published U.S. averages, and larger repairs more. Atlanta prices can land above or below that. Your written estimate is the number that counts.
Why is my water bill suddenly high?
The usual causes are a running toilet, a dripping faucet, or a hidden leak in a supply line or under the slab. Turn off every tap and check whether the water meter still moves. If it does, water is leaking somewhere.
How long does a water heater last?
Tank water heaters often last around 8 to 12 years. Rust-colored hot water, rumbling noises or water around the base are signs it is near the end.
Water is spraying. What do I do?
Shut off the main water valve, usually near the water meter or where the line enters the house. Then start your ticket.
Can you replace a water heater?
Yes. Tell us the size and fuel type if you know it, or text a photo of the label.
